Coaches Requirements and Trainings
YAC Cheer will follow American Youth Cheer (AYC) rules set forth in the Official Cheer and Regulation guide.
Coaches are assigned for one season and are automatically terminated at the end of the season.
Coaches must re-apply annually. Each coach needs to be approved by YAC.

Each team will consist of one Head Coach and two Assistant Coaches.
All coaches are required to attend YAC spring Coaches Clinics. Failure to attend the clinics will result in not being able to coach.
Coaches need to hold a current CPR and First Aid.
Coaches are required to complete the following trainings before the start of the season.
Head Coaches:
- Online Human Kinetics Coaches Course ( www.ayfcoaching.com )
- Any Head Coach who has previously completed the course MUST YEARLY complete the refresher course.
- Complete the YCADA Y100 Series ( www.ycada.org/AYC )
- Certification courses are as follows:
- Y101- First year coaches Y102- Speed course- focuses more completely on rules & scoring. Y103- All veteran coaches that have completed Y101 & Y102. All veteran coaches will then rotate between the Y102 and Y103 courses which will be updated yearly to reflect any rule and scoring updates/changes.
- Certification courses are as follows:
Assistant Coaches:
- Complete the YCADA Y100 Series ( www.ycada.org/AYC )
