Travel Basketball Information

YAC Girls Basketball travel teams are governed by the Tri-County Basketball League rules and regulations. Travel players must attend or be eligible to attend Yorktown Schools. Travel teams are offered to girls in the 4th through 8th grades. Each team is comprised of one grade only, unlike the In-House program. Prospective players attend tryout sessions and are assessed by a group of evaluators selected by the club. Teams practice twice per week. League play typically begins in November and runs through mid-March.

The 4th, 5th & 6th grade team plays in the Tri-County League and are required to participate in the In-House program. Travel players in the 7th and 8th grades will also play in the Tri-County League and have the option to play on an In-House team also. Travel players must decide prior to the In-House evaluation sessions whether or not they will be playing In-House. If so, they are expected to attend the evaluation session for draft placement purposes and make a commitment to attend their In-House team’s practices and games.

All travel players pay an initial registration fee of $200 to hold their spot on the travel team.  This fee will cover the cost of gym space, insurance, and referees. Additional fees will be assessed per a budget for each travel team to cover the costs of league registrations, tournaments, uniforms, referees, etc.  Additional fees will be collected later in the season.

Travel players who participate in the In-House program pay a registration fee of $165 for the In-House program.  This fee covers the costs of gym space, referees, insurance, and the team shirt.
