TRAVEL TEAMS

Welcome to our softball travel program at YAC Girls Softball! In addition to our in-house teams, YAC Girls Softball also offers a more competitive travel program that runs over the Summer and Fall. Divisions include 10 and Under, 12 and Under, 14 and Under, and 16 and Under. Girls interested in playing on any of these teams must also participate in our In-House program. Please note that while league play is typically within a 45-minute radius, tournaments can be overnight and may require travel beyond this distance, so players and families should plan accordingly. Girls must try out to make these teams, and only a limited number of girls can play (this sometimes results in having to cut some girls).

We are immensely proud to announce that we boast three 2023 Greater Hudson Valley League Championship teams in our program – the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. These remarkable achievements highlight the excellence and success of our travel program, demonstrating our commitment to developing top-tier talent.

Our program offers a thrilling journey through the sport, running from June through the first week of August. We emphasize commitment as a cornerstone of our team culture, as it ensures success in tournaments and games.

We understand that life can get busy, so each player is allowed one missed practice. Below is our policy for missed practices, and/or games:

Rules For Missed Practices:

Two missed practices, the player will bat at the bottom of the order and won't have field time.

Three missed practices equate to sitting out one full game.

Rules For Missed Games:

For the first missed game, the player will bat at the bottom of the order and won't have field time.

Subsequent missed games will result in sitting out unless the player is needed to play.If additional games are missed beyond this point, the player will sit out a game.

Additionally, we prioritize the health and well-being of all our players. If anyone is feeling sick or unwell, we kindly ask that they refrain from attending practices or games for the safety of the entire team.

Join us for an exciting season of softball where dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship are celebrated!

Travel Commitment Letter

The team will primarily participate in a local town travel program and small-town tournaments.

This is a commitment for a full year, The team will primarily participate in a local town travel program and small-town tournaments.

This is a commitment for a full year, including Fall Travel, Winter Workouts, Spring Rec, and Summer Travel.

The fall season consists of 1 to 2 practices or games during the week and a doubleheader on Saturdays or Sundays. The team may also participate in one or two local tournaments.

Winter Workouts are once a week at a training facility and are mandatory.

The summer season is a weeknight league, usually beginning the third week of June and running until the end of July. There are games two to three times a week plus practices. Games can be as far south as the Bronx and as far north as Fishkill. In addition to weeknight games, the team will participate in two or three summer tournaments. We recommend scheduling any vacations after the first week of August to minimize the negative impact on the team due to a player's absence during the regular season.

Each player will receive four jerseys and four pairs of socks.

Upon acceptance, you will be asked to pay a fall fee to secure your daughter's spot.
