About Wrestling

Yorktown Wrestling is committed to teaching boys not only about the fantastic sport of wrestling, but also to be confident in themselves, how to be strong physically as well as mentally, how to wrestle with honor and integrity and most importantly to take pride in themselves. There is an old wrestling saying "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy". This is not an easy sport and it pushes the boundaries of physical and mental strength, but we teach the boys to learn from this and turn it into positive inner strength. Our program does not stress winning. Winning will come with the combination of self-determination, hard work, and having an environment conducive to learning the proper techniques.

Practices are Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 - 7pm at French Hill School.

This year we the starting date is November 17th. We will walk and introduce the staff on that day.

We will also have a November 3rd informational meeting at Crompond Elementary at 7pm.

For K-1, practice may be shortened to 60 minutes.

There will be limited practices and scrimmages on Saturdays.

We will also be participating in the Eastern NY Western CT league which will help to provide specific skill level experience. We also try to attend every Varsity home dual meet as a team.

We look forward to this season and having your child participate in the program.
